“Eventually, life starts to knock you around. You have to be ready to fight with a smile.” Something Tony’s grandmother told him years ago. “It occurred to me that life is a beautiful, joyful fight to the death.” Tony says. He went into Bruce Robison’s analog studio and played these songs live to tape, in one room. The result is a playful and overwhelmingly positive look at the hard parts of a life well lived, expressed through playfully energetic performances of catchy tunes. “It’s meant to be a celebration of these things, not a lament. That’s why I’m smiling through a battered face on the cover.”
