Billy Preston - "Encouraging Words" [Gold LP] Billy Preston's fifth studio album, Encouraging Words, was released in September 1970 through Apple Records. It marked his second and final project for the Beatles' label before signing with A&M Records. Co-produced by Preston and George Harrison, the album featured the first released versions of Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" and "My Sweet Lord," appearing two months ahead of Harrison's own recordings on his landmark triple album, All Things Must Pass. Preston's take on "My Sweet Lord" was issued as a single and reached #90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1971, though the album itself did not chart in the US or UK. While commercially overlooked, Encouraging Words has since been praised by some critics as one of Apple's strongest non-Beatles releases. Billy Preston - "That's The Way God Planned It" [Purple LP] Billy Preston's fourth studio record, That's The Way God Planned It, came out in August 1969 on Apple Records. The release arrived shortly after his work with the Beatles and was produced by George Harrison. It's title song became a chart success in the UK. �If we could go back and tell ourselves how much was going to happen to us after that record, what would we want to celebrate?� asked Laura Lee, bassist, vocalist, and founding member of the band. Instead, they thought: �Let�s do it again.�

The Universe Smiles Upon You ii was recorded on January 4-6, 2025, in the same family barn of guitarist Mark Speer, across the same dates where TUSUY was first conceived ten years earlier. On �Ricochet,� the third album from Snail Mail coming March 27th 2026, Lindsey Jordan returns to assert herself as a generational songwriter, clear-eyed and honest as ever. Time and space have finally allowed him to return to his first musical loves: jazz and playing the trumpet. The song �Traffic Lights,� co-written with Thom Yorke and Josh Johnson, accompanies the album announcement.

For Honora, which takes its name from a beloved family member, Flea composed and arranged the music, and also plays trumpet and bass throughout, joined by an elite crew of modern jazz visionaries: album producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks. The record features vocals from Flea, as well as friends Thom Yorke and Nick Cave. Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms for Peace) and Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes), among others, also join the band.

The album comprises six original songs�including one co-written by Flea, Johnson, and Yorke�as well as interpretations of tunes by George Clinton and Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean and Shea Taylor, and Ann Ronell.

Though Flea dreamed of being like his heroes Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Clifford Brown, his path went a different direction. His close friend Hillel Slovak asked him to pick up the bass and join his rock band when he was sixteen, leading Flea into a decades-long career with the hugely successful Red Hot Chili Peppers.

As Flea neared his sixtieth birthday, he realized that if he did not pick up the trumpet again, he probably never would. So he resolved to practice every day for two years�in the midst of a stadium tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a wife and newborn at home. At the end of those two years, he would make an album, regardless of where his knowledge or talents ended up.

Until Honora, Flea had never been scared of making music before. He worried that the all-star band he had assembled would think he was �a non-playing motherf*cker, charlatan, rock poseur or fan.� But, he says, �It turns out they were all the most genuinely supportive people, moving me deeply and daily with their generous spirits� Sitting in a room and playing the music with them made me feel like I was on drugs. I was buzzing, tripping and floating around the studio. I love them, they truly gave of themselves. I bow all the way down.�

Chet Baker is an icon and needs no introduction! He is currently one of the best known and best selling Jazz artist in the world. In The Big Room captures Peter Gabriel and band recorded live in the Big Room at Real World Studios on 23 November, 2003. 'I�d not really taken advantage of the big room as a performance space myself and when, in 2003, the opportunity came up, we grabbed it and offered the small number of seats to members of the Full Moon club. It was not part of a big tour so we weren�t as polished and rehearsed as we might have been while on tour, but it made for a more awake and edgy performance, as we were fully concentrating on what we were doing. There was no elaborate visual show, the whole focus was about making it sound good. I had pretty much forgotten how these songs sounded but listening back to these mixes I was pleasantly surprised how alive they were. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.' - pg This intimate concert was for members of Peter Gabriel�s Full Moon Club and took place during a short run of live shows in November 2003 that also included a performance for the UK�s Children in Need charity at Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil, a show at the Brighton Centre and the Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert in Cape Town. Frankenstein ends with a glorious reprisal of its themes, a showcase of Alexandre Desplat�s talent and the inspiration of Guillermo Del Toro and Mary Shelley. When Aronofsky began developing his latest film, Caught Stealing (starring Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz) he turned to IDLES, his favorite band, to shape the film’s sonic identity. Drawing inspiration from the gritty energy of the 1990s New York punk scene that permeates the film, IDLES contributed four original tracks, a striking cover of “Police & Thieves,” and recorded the full film score, composed by Rob Simonsen (Deadpool & Wolverine, The Whale, Foxcatcher).

The Who's eighth studio album, is to be released in a suite of formats including a super deluxe edition, this October featuring over 70 unreleased tracks including never before heard versions of the title track WHO ARE YOU, newly mixed live tracks from their first tour without original drummer Keith Moon, and candid recordings of the band rehearsing in 1977 and 1978. Also included in the 7CD/1 Blu-ray set are brand-new Atmos & Stereo mixes by Steven Wilson. The album will also be released as a deluxe 4LP box set, a 2CD deluxe edition. Initially released in August 1978, WHO ARE YOU marked a significant chapter in The Who's career while a commercial triumph, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and achieving double platinum status and No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart, it was also tragically the last album to feature legendary drummer Keith Moon, who died a week after its release. The album saw the band pushing boundaries once more, with the songs referencing the incoming influence of British Punk. Most notably, the title track was written after a night out with Steve Jones & Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols, and it reflected the sentiments of Music Must Change and Sister Disco. Pete Townshend also delivered some of his most ambitious and intricate arrangements, incorporating layers of synthesizers and strings into The Who's powerful backing tracks. Title track WHO ARE YOU preceded the album in early July 78 and became an instant anthem and has remained in the band's set list to this day. Aided by its appearance in the CSI TV franchise in the early 2000s it is one of the band's most streamed tracks. The initial sessions for the album took place at the band's Ramport Studios, produced by Glyn Johns and Jon Astley. However, the recording process was fraught with challenges and creative tensions. The Who Are You Super Deluxe Edition finally tells the whole story, featuring, for the first time, the rejected original Glyn Johns mix of the album, a newly remastered version of the released Jon Astley mix and fly on the wall rehearsal sessions from Shepperton Studios, which the band owned at the time, and a wealth of unreleased material including demos, alternate takes and in the case of standout track Sister Disco, a previously 'lost' guitar solo rescued from the multi-track tapes by Steven Wilson. In 1978, the album was seen as a return to form for The Who, and anticipation for a tour to support the album was high. Sadly, the death of Keith Moon on 23rd August put paid to any such plans. The band introduced their new drummer, Kenney Jones, formerly of The Faces and The Small Faces, in May 1979, along with new keyboard player John' Rabbit' Bundrick. One of the many highlights of the super deluxe edition is the newly mixed live tapes from the US leg of the 1979 tour, capturing The Who's explosive new lineup in full flight with tracks from the album coming to life onstage with a renewed energy. The band sustained that energy into the new decade with the epic The Kids Are Alright film project, the Quadrophenia movie, and the multi-platinum Face Dances album in 1981.

Phish's first show at Worcester Centrum, a 14,800-capacity hockey arena, was their fifth annual New Year�s Eve show. The band added new sounds to their sonic palette that year and spent the fall recording their fifth studio album, Hoist, so they we armed with a fresh batch of sounds and material. In 1975, Elton John was in the midst of a prolific run of unimaginable success, having broken into the mainstream in 1970 to become the biggest star on the planet. His 9th album in six years, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, would break new ground in a plethora of ways. A concept album devised with Elton�s longtime collaborator and lyricist Bernie Taupin, it told the chronological story of the early years of Elton (Captain Fantastic) and Bernie�s (the Brown Dirt Cowboy) musical careers in London as they struggled to break through. Featuring the single �Someone Saved My Life Tonight,� the album went on to become the first in history to debut at #1 on the US Billboard 200 and the first to be certified Gold upon its release due to the number of pre-orders. It sold 1.4 million copies in its first four days and remained at the top of the chart for 7 weeks.
