For the past six years underground hip-hop artists Eastern Sunz have been making their name known throughout the West Coast. Having performed with greats such as KRS-One, Living Legends, Blackalicious, Heiroglyphics, and The Coup, and having toured with Rahzel and Andre Nickatina, the Sunz have no problem getting the party started. Eastern Sunz music is a blend of bass-heavy, ultra funky beats plus lyrics that address political and social issues that everyone can relate to. Eastern Sunz was formed in '98 in Ashland, Oregon by emcee Aaron Harris (aka Courage), and producer/emcee Jordan Rose (aka 1mo). The duo's goal was to create an album that combined hip-hop with spirituality and intellectual thought. They released their first album, To Those of Higher Consciousness, in 2001. Soon thereafter the pair teamed up with Travis Taylor (aka Travis T) to record their second album, Hiphopacpocrypha. Their latest album, Courage--The Art of Spiritual Warfare, features Vursatyl of Lifesavas.
