2009 release. On the fourth full-length release from his 7 Grand label, Guru presents another thorough collection of classic East Coast street-hop. Once again collaborating with label partner/producer MC Solar, the legendary lyricist works his trademark suave-voiced flow over 17 eclectic tracks. Behind the boards, Solar shows his diverse influences-from Classic Rock (as he samples the Animals and Queen) and 1960s Soul to 1980s pop and original Bambataa-esque Hip Hop (on the electro-themed beat for 'Divine Rule'). Distinctively harder in tone and content than his Jazzmatazz efforts, this album sees Guru passing the mic to Philly underground MCs K. Born and Highpower on the aggressive 'When You Least Expect' and New York mixtape vet Doo Wop on 'No Gimmick Shit'.
